Kind of cool that two bits of news have to do with Australia – a country I had the great pleasure to visit several times and the place where I first met Annie – true fact:) at the Sydney Olympic Games.

Recently I was contacted by Darren James, who is an enormously popular radio host in Melbourne, and a very active, enthusiastic photog. His show, Weekend Breakfast with Darren James is widely listened to. Out of the blue, his station reached out, and given our photo connection, we had a great chat. Lots of fun. Honestly, though, given the wonder of radio, one of the reasons it was such a fun thing to engage in is that Darren asked me to submit my favorite couple of songs, which he then opened the program with. It really got me thinking about the music that gets me through, and has stuck with me for many years. So much fun.

I almost threw in Laura Nyro and Labelle, Gonna Take a Miracle. It’s a song about two lovers, kind of sad, but with the title, it became my theme song when I moved to NYC out of school and tried to get a career as a photographer going:-)
